  3.       Unless a programmer utilizes a marketing concept such as shareware,
  4.       the cost of bringing software to the attention of the computing
  5.       public is almost prohibitive.  Further, the end user must bear the
  6.       additional costs of marketing, advertising and packaging.  Software
  7.       should be accessible to the entire computing community and prices
  8.       should reflect the quality of the program, not that of the package.

  10.       For these reasons PC-SIG is hosting an open call to
  11.       programmers to become shareware authors and participate in the
  12.       PC-SIG Library.  In the coming year PC-SIG will be pursuing several
  13.       exciting opportunities to make shareware available to the PC user
  14.       in business, education and other applications.  In developing these
  15.       markets we hope to bring to the public at large the dynamic
  16.       potential we see in shareware.  Your software could be part of
  17.       these new markets.

  19.       As part of the PC-SIG Library the software author benefits in many
  20.       ways.  Once your program is accepted into the Library it is listed
  21.       in our directory.  Your program has the chance to be included in
  22.       our national advertising campaigns; in-depth reviews of shareware
  23.       programs appear in SHAREWARE Magazine, and every effort is made by
  24.       PC-SIG to put quality programs in the hands of interested PC users.
  25.       This is all part of a non-exclusive agreement between the shareware
  26.       author and the PC-SIG Library.

  28.       PC-SIG has also begun the widespread sale of registered versions;
  29.       giving national advertising promotion to fine shareware.  There are
  30.       challenging and exciting times ahead for shareware authors and we
  31.       would like to help you be part of them.
